You Hate Me, You Hate Me Not - I Really Dont Care.

Today I've realized how utterly drab my blog looks.
No pictures, no links, no "cute" stuff. There are only collections of words and numbers that probably make no sense to you. And like you even care.
D-R-A-B. Drab.
But what the hell, I only know one other person besides me who seems to read it, anyway. I was never one for pictures; I was always the bookish, wordy, and therefore generally BORING type. It really doesn't matter if no one reads my random ramblings and rants - just one of the millions of cretins who have blogs - if you don't like bookish, wordy, and therefore generally BORING type people, then I really don't like you either.

I've spent quite sometime going through the Friendster network, (c/o HER ^_^ account, of course) trying to discover how detached from the rest of the world (and my past) I really am. And to my great satisfaction, I am quite pleased to declare that I am - significantly cut off from a number of my past aquaintances and one-time friends. I never liked most (that's most people, not ALL, so to all those who consider themselves my "friends" - you can stop being offended and "hurt" now) of those people much, anyway. No, I am not sourgraping, it just seems that I have developed an affinity to being relatively alone. Of course, it does really suck at times, but so does hanging out with narrow-minded and arrogant morons who have exactly the same opinion of me as I have of them.
And as long as I don't get detached from HER, I'm A-Okay.

Hey! *poke poke poke*

Maybe if you like, I can add some blog accessories you might like. I'm not really as much a web-design wiz as Nikki is (she's the sassy lady who refurbished the look of my blog), I'd be happy to add thingamabobs to yours. That is, only if you like, ^_^

"For a kiss, and the promise of your hand, I shall bring you that star." Or something like that.

In the middle of my travels to the end of the last deadline of the year (yay!), I found myself in Neil Gaiman's blog - which I haven't been to recently - and saw this wonderful link to some pictures from the upcoming Stardust movie. And because I am such a cheesy, melodramatic, sap, I have loved Stardust since the day I started reading page one. I can't wait to see how the movie adaptation will turn out. The great Mr. Gaiman himself is involved in the production, so I think its not going to be half-bad, at the very least. The picture on top shows Tristran and Victoria Forester. The only beef I have with this is that Claire Daines is playing Yvaine. I don't know why, but I have never liked Claire Daines. Looking at the photo below - I can't help but wonder if this is as good as it gets. And I don't mean that in a good way. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to catching this film on the big screen and owning a personal copy on DVD. And then after Stardust, there...

Don't mind me, it's all just small talk

What is it with me and small talk? 99 percent of the people I know or have met seem to enjoy it, and I can't even pretend to be interested. Yes, I know, I'm weird and just more than a tad anti-social, but does that mean that it's not normal to even have a remotely intelligent conversation with someone? Does that mean that normal, regular conversation will always consist of how much you like having your picture taken in your spiffy little mobile phone or some remote mundane incident involving someone you know but I don't? Of course, I also do realize that I'm being really subjective here - who am I to say that small talk isn't intelligent conversation? I mean, maybe I'm just trying to get people to think the way I think and have conversations the way I want them to. I think I should lighten up. But I can't. Well, I guess that means I just have to endure more idle chit chat and try to work on at least displaying a semblance of interest on the topic at ...

Scattered thoughts on relationships

We all know relationships are hard. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that we all have at least a vague idea that real relationships are more than just kisses and walks in the park, or candlelit dinners and holding hands while watching a movie. Nevertheless, it is not unheard off, that two people who previously thought that their promises would hold suddenly drift apart and discover that all that remains between them are broken pledges, old hurts, and that good old “sorry”. They ask themselves whether they could have done something to prevent it, they ask themselves where along the road did they lose it, they ask themselves what went wrong and who’s to blame. But at this point whether or not these questions are answered is of little consequence—the damage has been done, and the whole house of cards has long since fallen down. I guess it’s just as simple as saying that people who are always there are also the ones who are the easiest to take for granted. They’re low maintenanc...
